Tips

* If the game seems dark on your monitor, you can turn off Shadows and Light Leveling in the video options screen to make it brighter.

* Experienced players who yearn for a more realistic game can turn the Friendly Fire server option On. This discourages blind firing and forces both teams to be vary careful about expending unnecessary ammo at will.  If you kill a teammate one too many times, he may turn around and kill you in anger (or just to teach you a lesson ...).

* A mouse with a wheel button makes it much easier to change weapons on the fly.

* Don't spend too much time worrying about how to get past locked doors. There are a few doors that can only  be opened from one side or by a switch, but for the most part, locked doors don't lead anywhere and cannot be opened.

* Listen to the game ... if you pay attention and memorize the sounds, you'll know what's happening. For instance, in Rescue at the Ruins, you can hear the sound of the tunnel being closed off.

* You can change your name during the game (but not in Ghost Mode). Press the tilde key ~ then type in "playername," followed by your new name in quotes. Press Enter to change it. For example, to change your name to Pally Killer:

hit ~ key and type

playername "Pally Killer"

Enter

* If you've got inexperienced players on your side, give him a specific task - for instance, guarding a ladder or objective point.

* You can't pick up or buy the sword of the dead Warlord, but you can pick up his unique ranged weapon. Similarly, you can't buy the unique weapon for any other class, but you can pick it up off a dead character. It's free, and works whether your enemy is friend or foe. Note that this replaces your own unique weapon, if you already have one. You can't carry two unique weapons at once.

* Be forewarned - new players may start off by accidentally trying to kill their own teammates at the start position. They may also initially have trouble telling the difference between  friendly and enemy forces. Kindly remind them to move their cursor over a player to determine their alliance - if they can see a name, its a friendly player.
