ARMOR

Armor can mean the difference between victory and death in Legends of Might and Magic. Each armor type offers unique trade-offs between protection, mobility, and class availability — choosing wisely can determine how long you survive the battlefield.

Get Leather armor as soon as you can. You end up taking much more damage if you’re naked than if you have armor. This means you’ll live and fight longer.

The heavier the armor, the better the protection but the slower your running speed. Magic armor doesn’t provide quite as much protection as Plate, but it weighs much less (only as much as Leather armor).

Plate mail armor is cheap and protective, but slows you down.

Magic armor gives almost as much protection as Plate, but doesn’t inhibit your movement any more than Leather armor does. It is, however, very expensive.

If you like melee combat, get Plate or Magic armor as soon as you possibly can. Then, hide behind corners or doors and wait for a good hacking opportunity.

What type of armor you’re wearing affects how high you can jump, even with a Jump scroll. Some advantageous positions above can only be reached if you’re light enough to jump that high.

Percentages over 100% mean that weapons can inflict more than their listed damage. For example, two blows to the head or torso with a Warrior’s Berserker Axe (base damage of 40) will inflict at least 100 points, enough to kill an unarmored character.

Head shots are particularly damaging, regardless of your armor.
