SCROLLS

Forged through the art of magic and sealed within fragile parchment, scrolls offer fleeting moments of extraordinary power.
Used wisely, their temporary enchantments can mean the difference between victory and defeat.

Purchasable

Feather Fall

Cost: 500
Duration: 60 Seconds

• You may fall any distance without taking damage for 60 seconds.

• Although most players use this scroll strictly as a soft landing trick, it can actually help you get places faster. For instance, you can fall over a ledge instead of climbing down, or fall off a bridge to get to the area below.

• Ready this before attempting a dangerous jump, if you think you can cast it in time after realizing you’ve failed the jump. Better yet, cast it before you try!

Jump

Cost: 500
Duration: 60 Seconds

• This scroll doubles your normal jumping speed (dramatically increases your jumping height and distance).

• A Jump scroll is a quick way to cross a map. You can jump walls and other obstacles that other players will have to go around. This is useful if you want to be the first person to arrive in a particular area, like the Princess’s holding area.

• You can jump higher if you stand still after casting this scroll. This sometimes gives you the extra boost you need.

• A Jump scroll helps you jump a lot farther horizontally, especially if you get a running start. Just remember that you won’t jump quite as high if you’re running.

Lava Protection

Cost: 500
Duration: 60 Seconds

• This scroll allows you to swim in pools of lava without taking any damage.

• There’s no sense in buying it except in scenarios which have lava.

• This scroll does not provide any protection against dragon attacks or fire-based projectiles.

• You can drown in lava, even if you’re using this scroll. Keep your head above the magma often enough to breathe.

Teleport

Cost: 500
Duration: Instantaneous

• This scroll teleports you back to your starting location.

• Probably the most useful scroll in the game, Teleport has many applications, depending on the mission type.

• Teleport after dropping an H.H.G.A. The grenade is stored in weapon slot 4; after you throw it, your scroll is automatically the next active item (particularly if you aren’t holding any other scrolls). Left-click twice to throw the grenade and get the heck out of there. This is a good, repeatable strategy for some scenarios.

• If you’ve drawn Excalibur in a Sword in the Stone mission, you can’t Teleport to get to your starting position.

• Teleporting breaks your bond with the Princess.

• As a backup to Feather Fall, the Teleport scroll can save you from a long fall (for instance, in the Forgotten Keep scenario). You’ll have to be quick in casting it, though, so make sure it’s armed first.

• If you really get into trouble, use your Teleport scroll to escape the throes of death and return to your start position.

Wizard’s Eye

Cost: 500
Duration: 20 Seconds

• This scroll reveals your enemies’ locations for 20 seconds.

Offensively, Wizard’s Eye is good for finding campers and Warlords.

Defensively, you can use this scroll if you’re parked somewhere and want to know where your nearest enemies are.

• If you look closely, you can identify a Wizard’s Eye scroll before picking it up off of the ground. It’s marked with a very faint eye.

Only found in chests

Invisibility

Cost: Only in Chests
Duration: 20 Seconds

• You will vanish for 20 seconds, leaving only your weapon visible.

• Even though your body is invisible, all players can still see your weapon. Arm yourself with the smallest weapon possible (such as a Throwing Knife).

• You can walk past monsters if you’re invisible, and they won’t attack you. However, if you cast it after attacking a monster, it will continue attacking you.

• You’re still vulnerable to attacks, lava, and acid while invisible.

Haste

Cost: Only in Chests
Duration: 20 Seconds

• Using this scroll will double your running speed (but not your attack speed).

• If you’re lucky enough to find a Haste scroll in a Sword mission, you can race to the sword, or to its delivery point.

• The Princess can keep up with whoever’s leading her in a straightaway — if you’re using Haste, she’s as fast as you are. However, don’t try this if there are a lot of obstacles in the way — she can easily get stuck behind something.

• Don’t use Haste while fighting. You can’t attack any faster with your weapon and it’s really hard to maneuver.
